Your Next Best Friend - The Asian Grocer

Ever been on your way home wondering what on earth you're going to do with that leftover rice or almost stale bad of veggies you bought? Well, next time you hop off the train or bus, or if you're a driver, stop over at your nearest Asian grocer and peep in to see all the cheap wonders it holds. I know at first it can be daunting, as not many food items are in English or even seem edible, but bring along this handy guide to help you venture through and pick up some quick, easy and cheap foods to make your dinner just a little bit special.

If you don't mind the spicy things in life, definitely this minute ramen is for you. Costing between $1-$3, you'll fill yourself up on this tasty quick meal and finish feeling like you've just brought takeaway from an expensive noodle restaurant.

These are so easy and cheap, they're usually found at the back of the store in the freezer. If you've tried the chicken or pork dumplings, maybe venture out and get yourself some prawn or veggie dumplings, you won't be disappointed!

If you've had dinner already and are looking for a cheap sweet treat, try out these little rice dumplings, made into all different flavours with a jelly or ice cream filling. If you've had these before, try out taro or red bean flavour!
